Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this, so here goes:
By March, homeschooling was well underway, new friends were being made, but there was still no job for Aron. He'd applied to several places and so we were waiting, impatiently at times, to hear something about something. One of the companies Aron has worked for in the past in between ministry jobs has been T-Mobile. He's always done well, and if it wasn't for the calling God has on his life for ministry, sales could be his career. He's just really good at it. I think it's mostly because he has an easy time of relating to people and I think they feel that they can trust that he's working on their behalf.
Anyway, our biggest blessing of March was that after a month of waiting, Aron was hired to work for T-Mobile. In the economy that we've had for awhile now, the fact that he got a job at all was a big blessing. But the fact that it was with a reputable company that he was very familiar with was even better. And while the pay isn't that great (especially compared to all the money he makes them!) it is enough to pay our bills. And they have really good benefits, which is always a plus!
One of those great benefits that we were able to start reaping (after the first 90 days) was a childcare reimbursement. Now we don't have any children in daycare so Aron didn't apply to receive this. However, his boss let him know that it includes ANY time you pay someone to watch your children. So Aron, kinda jokingly asked, "So you mean if I take my wife out on a date and pay a babysitter, I'll get my money back?" And the answer was YES! Amazing!!! Especially for us, who were so amazingly spoiled by Aron's mom who used to take the kids every Friday night, OVERNIGHT, so that we could have some alone time or a date night! We knew that once we moved to North Carolina, we'd have to start being normal parents who have to find a babysitter, and being that money is always very tight around here, we knew that unless we could find someone to watch our children for free, date nights were going to be a rarity. Then along came the provision of a job with this amazing benefit!
God also provided us with a fabulous babysitter (we love you Miss Bethany!) who's been watching the kids for us now pretty much every Wednesday night since shortly after Elizabeth was born. The kids adore her, she's firm with them yet lots of fun, and she even does my dishes when she's here! Blessed so abundantly!!!!
I miss those Friday's as well. If you guys were still here, we would add Leah to the bunch, what a blast that would be. I don't think Vance and I are near as much fun to play with as her cousin's would be. In my bible study this week, in Deut., Moses was reminding the people of all God had done for them and if they would have stuck with him they would have been truly blessed in the land. It made me reflect on how much God has done for me and how easily it is to forget. This blog is such a wonderful way to keep all those blessings alive. Keep it up!!!!! Love you all
