After much prayer, much questioning, and much wondering, it's official! We are moving to Bakersfield, California!! This has been such a God-led adventure and one that we're looking forward to following to completion.
Aron and I returned just today from our trip out there to make sure this was right, both for First Presbyterian Church of Bakersfield and for us...and obviously it was. The friendly welcoming people there blew us away with their hospitality. The people we met were seriously some of the nicest people we've ever been with and their concern for us and our family was genuine. Their love for Jesus, their commitment to prayer, and their belief in His provision was so great to witness. We're so blessed to be given this opportunity to be a part of this body of believers.
Along with the blessing will of course come some hardships. Transitions are coming and while that may be scary at times, we're "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Also, we are holding on to this promise: "Now to Him who is able to do immeasureably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." We have no house to move to in two weeks and finding one in our comfortable price range in a safe location has proved difficult. Yet we will hold out hope that God is in this, and He's in the business of doing amazing things.
Miss you already, but it's not like your saying good-bye just see you later. Cessie and Aron, you both have been truly Blest with such wonderful friends who took care of you both and had taken you under their wing has I'm sure they have be Blest by you both also. Now it's time for a new page to be written in your lives and start a new, blessing new people and them blessing you in return. I know I have been blessed you your faithfulness. Love you both.
